Bicol 2016 Day 1 - Failed Peñafrancia and Albay Tour

We arrived in Nabua, Camarines Sur at around 6:30 in the morning, butt aching, restless, no bathe since the morning before (since we came directly from the office) and hungry. WOW. Way to start a trip.

We stayed at Jhacel's place to catch some quick z's, breakfast and bath.

At around 9:00 AM, we decided to leave for Naga to attend one of the hourly mass inside the Peñafrancia Cathedral and find a good location for the fluvial parade that will a happen around 4:00 PM.

After a couple of hours, we realized that we aren't getting anywhere. Hungry, we grab a quick lunch and rerouted back to Nabua going directly to Albay for, our long awaited, Mayon sight seeing.

While on our way, the majestic volcano was hidden behind gigantic clouds, and got us a little discouraged that we might not be able to see the tip of the mountain.

On our way to Cagsawa Ruins, I kept on asking Jhacel's husband (also a local to the place) on are we going to pass by the giant chili in Albay. This is because it is also considered as one of Bicol's iconic landmark as the region is well known to its small but terrible (due to its very spicy taste) "Siling Labuyo". So when we finally arrived, I was like a child that immediately hopped off our van to take some photo with it.

After a few minutes, we have finally arrived in Cagsawa Ruins. It is said that the current ruin was once a grand Catholic church, but got submerged when Mt Mayon erupted in 1814 and its once bell tower has become its remains.

We took a lot of pictures in the park. We also tried their sili flavored ice creams. I had pili flavor, Mec had strawberry, while Jen and Del had mango.

We also did our pasalubong (souvenir) shoppings here, as Jhacel told us that we will be able to get better souvenirs here than in Naga. Little did we know, we have stayed there for a couple of hours, Jhacel's children were already complaining. Sorry babies.

We arrived in Nabua at around 7:00 PM, but unlike in Manila (or even Cavite), most house lights are either dimmed or off. So, when we got home, we had our dinner, had some few beers, refresh ourselves and dozed off for a more fun packed day ahead.

Caramoan Islands 2017

Almost a year after our Naga-Legaspi trip , we are back to a more bum-numbing 14 hour trip to Caramoan Island in Bicol. Many would ask why would I subject myself to this self torture. But once you're there you'll be asking yourself why not. With a storm land-falling in North Luzon that night, some of our companions were hesitant to leave. Some even bailed. But hell with it. We're going south anyways so the trip must go on. So, after ordering a to-go dinner we were bound to Bicol. After what felt like a forever drive, we finally arrived in Presentacion, a humble municipality in Camarines Sur prior to Caramoan. After a heavy brunch and a couple of hours rest, we headed out to start the day. We went to an island named Aguirangan. Just 10 minutes from the main island you can walk around the island in less than 30 minutes. But with its stunning white sand and rock formations you'll definitely be awed by its beauty. I was even able to see an octopus h...

Wedding Supplier Ratings and Reviews

I know, I promised to update this page as much as I can but its been months since my last entry. Reason? I GOT MARRIED. Yes. You read that right. After (literally) 10 years, we finally got married. And we got super busy these past few months. That's why I had to pause updating this blog. Anyhow, its been 2 weeks since our dream wedding. And this entry will center mainly on our reviews and ratings for our chosen suppliers whom helped us to fulfill our dream wedding. 1. Primary Hotel - Crosswinds Resorts Suites ★★★★     BJ attended a wedding and the couple had this hotel as their prep hotel. He immediately told me that it will be perfect if we'll have it as our prep hotel as well. So I booked 2 2-Bedroom Suites months prior our wedding through Agoda. I had it at almost half its published price.  Photo c/o my FB Page     I wasn't able to get the actual photos of the suite (syempre excited). But the whole place was super worth your money. The suit...

South Korea 2017 DIY Itinerary

Months after our wedding, our honeymoon trip finally arrives! YEY!!! Since BJ and I cannot leave work for long continues weeks. Plus our wedding happened in June, which is summer in most 4-seasoned countries. We'd like to experience all 4-seasons since we leave in a tropical country. We opt to delay our honeymoon trip just in time for autumn. We were in argument first on where to go. I've always wanted to go to South Korea ever since I got addicted to K-Drama (so that's around 10 years) and BJ would like to explore the Kansai Region in Japan (since we weren't able to go there last year). We, at some point, considered going in both since there are budget airlines travelling between these two countries. After continued arguments, we eventually ended up going to South Korea. Yey for me. :) Knowing that autumn foliage is quite unpredictable, we decided to find a late October to early November flight. This is because we're targeting the last part of autum...
