Boracay 2016 Day 1 - Arrival, and ATV

Our long awaited trip has finally arrived. This flight has a lot of firsts for us. It is the first time I will be flying for a personal vacation without BJ.  It is also Janine's first time to ride an aircraft. It is also a first for me to ride a Skyjet plane and fly on a lower altitude.

We left for the airport 3 hrs prior our flight. To our surprise, the streets were flooded due to the heavy rain the night before (Insert "Ganyan kami sa Makati" meme).

We managed to arrive in the airport about 2 hrs prior our flight (Our flight is scheduled at 11:30 AM). During check in we were advised that our flight may be delayed because Caticlan Airport was a no fly zone due to the monsoon (Wow! Really?!). At around 10:00, an announcement that a certain flight bound to Caticlan was definitely cancelled due to heavy down pour and advised all passengers to reschedule their flights. At this point my head was getting hysterical and different scenarios was already flying. Thankfully, by 11:00 a flight bound for Caticlan from a different airline was called to enter their gate. Janine and I were finally relieved.

At 11:15 our flight number was called to enter our gate. our plane was jam-packed, mostly likely because most of the passengers from the earlier flight was transferred to ours. Our travel only took around 35 mins, this is quite faster compared to the regular flights which normally takes 1 hr from Manila to Caticlan.

During our land transit (both from airport to sea port and from sea port to hotel), we saw why the airport was classified a "no fly zone" that morning, most main streets were flooded. That was not a normal sight for a tourist based location such as Boracay.

So by the time we reached our hotel we just rested for a while, called Felix (he was our contact for all our activities last time we went to Boracay in 2011), filled our grocery needs, took our lunch and off we go to our much deserved Vitamin Sea. :)

At around 3:00, we met with Felix for our ATV.

We opt to get the mountain tour instead of the Puka Beach tour because Felix says that he'll make a way for us to stop by Puka Beach in the coming days.

After our ATV, we dropped off by the beach to see if we'll be able to glimpse the Boracay sunset but unfortunately it was still too cloudy.

So, we just returned to our place to wash up, then returned to the beach (since it was still a little early for dinner) for night sea breeze.

Unfortunately, after a few minutes, rain starts to drizzle. So, we just grabbed a quick dinner and called it a night.

Bicol 2016 - 2 Days and 2 Nights DIY Itinerary

I have gone to several places (and countries), even got to see the very rare Mt Fuji in Japan and Mt Iraya in Batanes. But I'm still intrigued to see the, dubbed, "most perfect cone" Mt Mayon of Albay. So, when our recently resigned officemate, Jhacel, invited us (more of we forced ourselves) to come to their place in Nabua, Camarines Sur (a town between Naga and Albay), we decided to come without a blink of an eye. I have never gone to any province in Bicol. It's pretty much because of imagining the butt aching estimated 10 hr ride to and from there. But when an unplanned, adrenaline-fueled trip comes in your way, you just can't say no. So on September 16, after a quick dinner, we opt to leave Ortigas and of we go to Bicol. Woohoo! I will be creating a day per day detailed article on our Bicol trip, but for now, I will be providing you with our daily itinerary. Just a quick disclaimer though, we stayed in Jhacel's place so no accommoda...

Wedding Supplier Ratings and Reviews

I know, I promised to update this page as much as I can but its been months since my last entry. Reason? I GOT MARRIED. Yes. You read that right. After (literally) 10 years, we finally got married. And we got super busy these past few months. That's why I had to pause updating this blog. Anyhow, its been 2 weeks since our dream wedding. And this entry will center mainly on our reviews and ratings for our chosen suppliers whom helped us to fulfill our dream wedding. 1. Primary Hotel - Crosswinds Resorts Suites ★★★★     BJ attended a wedding and the couple had this hotel as their prep hotel. He immediately told me that it will be perfect if we'll have it as our prep hotel as well. So I booked 2 2-Bedroom Suites months prior our wedding through Agoda. I had it at almost half its published price.  Photo c/o my FB Page     I wasn't able to get the actual photos of the suite (syempre excited). But the whole place was super worth your money. The suit...

Caramoan Islands 2017

Almost a year after our Naga-Legaspi trip , we are back to a more bum-numbing 14 hour trip to Caramoan Island in Bicol. Many would ask why would I subject myself to this self torture. But once you're there you'll be asking yourself why not. With a storm land-falling in North Luzon that night, some of our companions were hesitant to leave. Some even bailed. But hell with it. We're going south anyways so the trip must go on. So, after ordering a to-go dinner we were bound to Bicol. After what felt like a forever drive, we finally arrived in Presentacion, a humble municipality in Camarines Sur prior to Caramoan. After a heavy brunch and a couple of hours rest, we headed out to start the day. We went to an island named Aguirangan. Just 10 minutes from the main island you can walk around the island in less than 30 minutes. But with its stunning white sand and rock formations you'll definitely be awed by its beauty. I was even able to see an octopus h...
